How To Protect Exterior Wood with C2 Guard
Well, now that it's outdoor season, I'm going to tell you about an amazing product called C2 Guard. It's a waterproofer and stain that will work on any surface that it can penetrate into. So any unsealed wooden surface decks, white cedar shingles, which we're going to show you in a minute.
It's a nanotechnology, which means it's extremely small particle size, which allows it to penetrate deeply into the wood and waterproof below the surface. That's very different than how most products work, which sit on the surface that protect for very short amount of time until the UV burns them off. So most products last, well, less than a year. C2 Guard being a deeply penetrating and below the surface, waterproof lasts a whole lot longer. You can use it by itself or if you're painting and you've got new wood, you can use C2 Guard first to protect the wood, to waterproof it and then paint over it, or obviously use C2 Guard by itself.
So for a demonstration, I'm going to put drops of water on this part - this is treated with guard and this part is not, and you'll see the difference. So I think it's pretty obvious. This is the untreated side. Water is quickly soaking into the untreated wood, and on the guard treated side, that water's just sitting there. It's not going in at all, but let's come back at a half an hour and see if it's still sitting there. I'm going to put one more drop in. That's a good size one. So let's just let that sit and see what happens.
30 minutes later and you can see that the C2 Guard treated side has no penetration of the water!
